Today, Someone turned 2.
Vanessa just DAYS old.
This little peanut, just celebrated a big day. She has come such a LONG way since her 1st Birthday!
Someone was being bashful for her pictures!
It seems like just yesterday that this little peanut came into my life.
Dear Vanessa,
I cannot believe that you are two years old already. It does not feel like you should be that old. It feels like I should still be snuggling a tiny newborn baby. Today, I saw a new baby who was fresh from the hospital. She was wearing a knit hat similar to the one you wore in the hospital and her face was rosy pink. I had flash backs. I wanted to scoop her up and snuggle her and breathe in her new baby smell and tell her how much I adored her. But then I remembered that you are a big 2 year old now & I have much more exciting things to look forward to as you grow.
You have had a rough year. After you turned one, mama and daddy packed up all of our things and moved 210 miles away from where you were born. We thought that you would be unfazed.
Boy where we wrong.
Unfortunately you stopped talking. Oh how I miss your sweet voice. I am thankful that where we live now, you have been enrolled in speech therapy. You see Miss Cody every other week. She is amazing and you love her. She has taught us how to teach you sign language and you can do close to 30 or 40 signs. I really should write them all down so I can keep better track. Without those signs we would be just as frustrated as we were before. I hate that you cannot talk because it makes you such a cranky little girl.
You are so smart for your age though. Even your therapist says that you do things that her 4 year old doesn’t even do. You are so much like your big sister, its crazy.
Vanessa, I hope you know how much we love you. Even though some days you look at us like we are crazy & we where so unprepared for you. You are nothing but a blessing. I couldn’t imagine NOT having you around. I am so thankful that God chose me to be your mama. I believe that you are a blessing in disguise and I have yet to figure out what that is. You are teaching me patience like no other.

I am so over the moon about this outfit. I seriously do not think I could have found anything better. I got the “I am 2″ shirt, the skirt, and the pink hair bows. I just adore The Childrens Place. Adorable Giraffe decorations from Birthday Express!
Vanessa has an insane adoration for giraffe’s so when I got the chance to get this AWESOME party pack in the mail for Vanessa’s birthday, I couldn’t help but choose this ADORABLE little giraffe theme!
The Birthday Table
The party pack we got from Birthday Express was enough for 8 people.
Which included:
Table Topper, invitations, 3 colors of streamers, ribbon for presents/balloons, 2 packs of 2 different colors of balloons, cups, plates, napkins, forks/spoons, place mats (SO ADORABLE, flip over and it was a color sheet), candles, a mylar balloon (Couldn’t blow this up as Vanessa has some fear of floating balloons so I taped it behind her highchair), Happy Birthday confetti, and a table cloth.
I was pleasantly surprised by the table cloth. I was expecting just a standard paper table cloth but when I opened it and found that it has a plastic backing to help in case of a spill, I was STOKED. Even better than I imagined. My daughter was SO surprised when she woke from her nap and saw the living room with streamers on the ceiling and balloons taped to the (turned off) ceiling fan. Then when she saw the kitchen table, she started signing giraffe instantly. Made my heart happy.

Everything was PERFECT.
To say she enjoyed her cake would be an understatement.
It was a great day for sure. She danced, played, partied, ate cake & ice cream, & fell asleep in no time.
